Clarification from Bristol 6/17
QUESTION 1)
Player A,
(starter), starts the game. Does he need to meet the minimum requirements before
player B, (sub), is inserted?
NO. At any level of
play in our program, only a STARTER can be removed from the game before completing
mandatory play.
Ex: Visitors go up 5-0 in the top of the 1st,
can player B, (sub), be inserted at that time defensively, before A, (starter),
gets his 3 consecutive outs in the field?
Yes, with
the exception of player A being the pitcher. The pitcher MUST throw to at least
one batter if he is the starting pitcher.
QUESTION
2)
Player A, (starter), plays 2 full innings. Player B, (sub), is
inserted and plays 2 full innings, meeting his minimum requirements. Player A,
(starter), goes back in for 1 inning. Can player B, (sub), re-enter again?
Absolutely YES.
And once both players,
"married to the same spot in the batting order", meet their minimums, can they
be re-entered back and forth for the remainder of the game?
Absolutely
YES.

(Starter A, Sub A) ARE MARRIED
IN THE BATTING ORDER
(Both can only bat in the same slot in the order for
entire game)
AND CANNOT BE IN THE GAME AT THE SAME
TIME!
QUESTION 3)
Can
multiple players be subbed for a starter?
Yes.
Assume Starter A meets his requirements. Sub A is inserted into his slot. After
Sub A meets his requirements,
Sub B can be inserted into that slot as well.
Minimum requirements MUST be met by all players!
